These assemblages use animal remains to create an emblematic allusion that derives from dream theory. The wood and animal remains are painted together as physical interpretations of the presence of animals in our dreams. The subconscious can be spiritual, mysterious, mythical, fantastical, terrifying, or ordinary fabrications adopted from the past and predictive of the future. Dreams can be a way to communicate with the spiritual world. In dream theory each of the animal species used in this work conveys an outcome in a person’s life; change in status, relationships, virtue, luck, or regret. This work actualizes the foretelling of sleep.
